Crvena Zvezda was convincingly triumphant against Krka in their away game, securing a 90-67 victory in the ABA League’s ninth round.
Despite the home team being at full strength, Crvena Zvezda played without Adam Hanga and Branko Lazic. The visiting team started forcefully, leaving no room for the opponent to contemplate victory.
Crvena Zvezda displayed a highly diverse offensive strategy, coupled with exceptionally strong defense, quickly establishing an 11-0 lead. This advantage was maintained until the end of the first half, limiting Krka to 25 points. The surplus of 16 points was a positive for the red and white team, considering their poor three-point shooting.
The center duo of Joel Bolomboy and Marko Simonovic stole the show for Belgrade. With their seamless collaboration, the guests quickly gained a 20+ point lead, maintaining it successfully throughout. The dominance continued until the end, as Crvena Zvezda convincingly thwarted any opponent’s comeback attempts.
Top scorers for the winners were Mike Tobey and Bolomboy with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Leon Stregar led the hosts with 15 points.
In the next round, Krka travels to Split, while Zvezda hosts Cibona.
