CSKA has notched its second win in the tournament organized by Igokea to celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary, defeating Galatasaray with a commanding score of 88-50.
CSKA demonstrated its excellent form right from the beginning of the tournament, defeating Igokea 82-66. Given that Galatasaray had also triumphed over the host team, it was clear that these two teams would determine the finalist.
The outset of the match hinted that there would be little room for suspense in the final result. CSKA started the game with a 14-2 lead, and by the end of the first quarter, the Muscovites had a 15-point advantage. They continued their dominance, reaching a 47-28 lead by halftime.
The remainder of the match lacked any dramatic turnarounds. CSKA maintained its relentless performance on both ends of the court, ultimately overwhelming the Istanbul-based team.
The leading scorers for CSKA were Tonye Jekiri, Amath M’Baye, and Anton Astapkovic, each contributing 14 points. Miralem Halilovic and Corey Walden were the only players to reach double digits for Galatasaray, with ten points each.
In the second group, Hapoel from Jerusalem defeated Turk Telekom in the first match. They will face Partizan tonight, with the reigning ABA League champions set to play against the Ankara team on Saturday.
