Dairis Bertans, suffered a partial tear of his left hamstring and is expected to be sidelined for five weeks

On Sunday, Latvia shocked the world by eliminating France from the medal contention at the World Cup.
However, they also lost one of their key players in the process. Dairis Bertans got injured and couldn’t continue playing in the second half.
Bertans suffered a partial rupture of his left tendon and will miss the remainder of the FIBA World Cup. It’s expected that the guard will be sidelined for five weeks.
The injury occurred three minutes before the end of the second quarter. Before exiting the game, Bertans scored eight points in six minutes. In the first game against Lebanon, he was the top scorer with 20 points to his name.
After securing a spot in the second round, Latvia will face Canada on Tuesday, August 29th, competing for the first place in Group H.
