Damian Lillard once again showed why he’s one of the best point guards in the league in the Milwaukee Bucks’ win over the Indiana Pacers by 109:94.
It was a fantastic first game for the home team in this matchup. The absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo was initially seen as a major problem by many, but the Milwaukee Bucks showed they can perform well even without him.
Damian Lillard took on more responsibility and demonstrated why he was brought in, scoring 35 points in the first half and securing a routine win for his team. After the game, he didn’t hide his satisfaction and emphasized that he understands the need to be more aggressive in such situations.
“I don’t think that it’s all on me but I know that I’ve got to be a little bit more aggressive and I’ve got to step forward a little bit more assertively. In the playoffs … it’s about setting a tone. We’re going to see this team a lot of times, and you want to establish yourself, especially on your home floor. That was just my mentality, to come out and try to set the tone.
The last two years, not being in the NBA playoffs, it sucked. Early vacations. Last year, I went to Coachella. I ain’t never been able to go to Coachella. It’s playing in the playoffs every year. Just having that long summer, it was like, man, I was over that.”
The next game is scheduled for the night between Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:30 AM.
