D’Angelo Russell, Los Angeles Lakers player, spoke to the media and commented on whether he is satisfied with his season.
After another loss to the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs, the discussion among Lakers fans has once again arisen about whether D’Angelo Russell is worthy of the purple and gold jersey. Although he didn’t play as poorly as in previous seasons, when he was benched by the end of the series by head coach Darvin Ham, Lakers fans’ expectations are much higher. However, D’Angelo Russell himself believes he had a good season.
“Hell of a year by D’Angelo. Humbly saying that. Through the ups and downs, through all the whatever you want to call it, it never bothered me. Always kept myself sane. When I look at my phone, my family, my friends, my circle, texting me telling me how proud they are of me. For me, that’s all I need. I don’t need anything else.”
Russell has a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers for next season, but it’s a player option. It remains to be seen whether Lakes player will choose to opt out of that contract and become a free agent this summer.
D’Angelo Russell averaged 18 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.1 rebounds this season.
