Danijel Jusup, the head coach of the Zadar team, shared his impressions after the Dalmatian team’s defeat to Buducnost with a score of 103-73 at the beginning of the new ABA League season.
Danijel Jusup initially highlighted his main impression of the game and pointed out a key factor that was decisive.
“I believe you witnessed a one-sided game. The home team dominated from the start. They won all four quarters and played with inspiration. We also helped them quite a bit. We played poorly, and what frustrated me the most was our lack of offensive rebounds. I emphasized that if the opponent misses a shot, we must secure the rebound and run, but they capitalized on that. I’m not satisfied, and it’s more than that. If we continue like this, a tough battle for survival awaits us” – Jusup began.
He then briefly commented on the contributions of bench players that were not of great benefit to Zadar. He also discussed Luka Bozic.
“They had the contribution they had. It changed the course of the game. I decided to bench Bozic because he played for 18 minutes. I put in players who reacted poorly to that, and they went from being five points behind to 12. It was evident. You play with five players, not 12. I expect that players from the bench will provide some contribution, at least 2 minutes to prevent the score from dropping, but they didn’t manage that today” – Jusup emphasized.
