After the Los Angeles Lakers win, Darvin Ham commented on the ludicrous claims that his team would intentionally lose to the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Los Angeles Lakers secured a playoff spot tonight with a 110:106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Many have commented that the Lakers might intentionally lose to avoid facing the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, and head coach Darvin Ham had a response to those claims.
“There was report of what? Insane asylum sources say. Just someone that got out of the insane asylum.” – said Ham, and then spoke about the Lakers chances against the Nuggets in the upcoming series:
“It’s back to 0-0. Obviously, they’ve had a ton of success against our ball club, but there’s always a new day. We like where we are, we like where the spirit of our group is. Everybody’s chipping in, pitching in, and excited about this challenge, this opportunity. Respect to Denver. They’re a hell of a ball club. There’s a reason why they’re the defending champs. But we like our chances.“
