Dejan Davidovac shared his thoughts ahead of the new season in which Crvena Zvezda will compete for trophies on four fronts.
The Serbian basketball player emphasizes that Crvena Zvezda has brought in proven, high-achieving players, but it will take some time for them to integrate.
“We have experienced players with great achievements in their careers; many of us arrived late, and I haven’t even trained with Teodosic and Napier yet. The season starts in three days, so we’ll have to work on our chemistry throughout the season. It might take us some time, but the season is long, and patience will be needed” – said Dejan Davidovac.
Davidovac doesn’t hide his desire to return to the club from Mali Kalemegdan, but he also mentions that he enjoyed his time at CSKA.
“Honestly, I had a desire to return, but on the other hand, I think I benefited from the year I spent at CSKA. I’m glad to be back here. I’ve been through a lot with Crvena Zvezda; it wasn’t that long ago, and I’ve won a lot here. It’s nice to be back”.
He sees his time spent with the national team as a great experience, especially since the team managed to win the silver medal at the recent FIBA World Cup.
“My head is still not cold; I am aware that we achieved a great success. I’m glad that we were all together, both from Crvena Zvezda and Partizan. It was truly a great experience. Success with the national team is different from success with Crvena Zvezda and CSKA; those are clubs, and playing for your country is something else. It has always been my desire to achieve success with Serbia” – Dejan said, concluding:
“In the final, the Germans were physically dominant, tall, and we first lost Borisa, then Dobric. We gave 400 percent in every game, so with this shortened rotation, we didn’t stand a chance”.
