Dejan Davidovac, the familiar face returning to Crvena Zvezda, has rejoined the team after a few days’ break following the FIBA World Cup. The Serbian player shared his initial impressions and expressed his optimism about the team’s dynamics.
“There are quite a few new faces, and I’ve just joined back. I know some players who were here when I was with the team, and I’m familiar with others from the national team. It looks pretty good for a start, and I hope it stays that way until the end,” Davidovac began.
He then reflected on Serbia’s success at the World Cup, acknowledging his gratitude for the experience and mentioning that he managed to get some rest during the break.

“It was a fantastic and valuable experience. I’m glad about what we accomplished. I think it will take some time for us to fully grasp the significance of it. Now, I’m focusing on new responsibilities. Joining in at this point is a bit challenging since the guys have already made progress with their preparations. However, I’ll give my best, and I believe they’ll help me adapt,” said the player originally from Zrenjanin.
Finally, he commented on the upcoming tournament in Cyprus, where Dusko Ivanovic’s squad will compete. Besides Crvena Zvezda, the tournament will feature Olympiacos, Zalgiris, and Maccabi Tel Aviv. The former CSKA Moscow player expects to contribute his utmost to the preparation tournament.
“I expect us to give our all, primarily. I believe the players are ready. I’ve just arrived, and I’ll assist as much as I can. I think we need to focus on our team, our game, and gradually ease into the season,” concluded Davidovac.
