Deni Avdija, a player for the Washington Wizards, delivered a career performance in the NBA game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
His team lost 133:126, but Deni Avdija had a NBA career-high game, scoring 43 points, including six three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He also grabbed 15 rebounds.
“It’s a bit emotional. I never thought that coming into the league, seeing all those numbers, those great players scoring points, I would be so hot. All the hard work, times when I fell or didn’t have good games – I’ve been through a lot on my own many times, and I stuck with it.
I kept working hard, I was patient, I went through a lot. And for me, this is just the beginning. I feel like it’s even better for me… but honestly, hard work and patience pay off,” said Deni Avdija
Furthermore, he performed well on defense.
“A big part of my offense comes from competing on defense, stopping and grabbing rebounds. That’s how I get into the game, that’s my bread and butter.
It will always be there, regardless of offense, and I feel like that’s what drives me to play a lot of games, get into defense, know my teammates, be there for my teammates, and play big games for the team.”
Deni Avdija is averaging 13.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game this season.
