Dennis Schroder, with the German national team, secured a spot in the FIBA World Cup semifinals after defeating Latvia 81-79.
Germany will be competing for a medal at the FIBA World Cup. They survived the quarterfinals against Latvia despite a disastrous performance by Dennis Schroder.
Schroder had one of his worst games in a German jersey, with a shooting percentage of 4/26 (4/18 for two-pointers and 0/8 for three-pointers), and he also had four turnovers.
In the semifinals, they will face the United States national team.
“I do what’s necessary every day to help my team win. I will stick to the same routine as tonight and the past few games. Friday is going to be fun,” Schroder told reporters in the mixed zone.
The USA vs. Germany match is scheduled for Friday. In the other semifinal, the Serbian national team awaits the winner of the Canada vs. Slovenia matchup.
