Memphis Grizzlies secured a victory on the road against the Detroit Pistons with a score of 116-102, led by an outstanding performance from Desmond Bane.
The start of the season wasn’t ideal for Memphis, especially with their star player Ja Morant unavailable. This was evident in their results, with only five wins before the game against Detroit, two of which came in the last three matches, indicating a slight improvement in form. Even against the Pistons, their performance didn’t seem stellar. In the first half, they struggled offensively, heading into the break with a four-point deficit.
The crucial factor was the final quarter. Memphis showcased a phenomenal defense that characterized them for most of the previous year, combined with the incredible performance of Desmond Bane. Born in Indiana, Bane played a fantastic finish and, with his role, secured a convincing victory for the Grizzlies.
Bane scored 49 points, setting a new NBA career-high, in addition to grabbing six rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Jaren Jackson Jr. followed with 24 points. On the Detroit side, Bojan Bogdanovic was the leading scorer with 22 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Orlando Magic with a score of 121-111.
Cleveland only needed one quarter against Orlando. The home team played an excellent first quarter, primarily thanks to Donovan Mitchell, who made a strong start to the game. With Mitchell leading the way, the Cavs built a 17-point lead after just 12 minutes of play.
Despite Orlando’s attempts to stage a comeback or at least bring the game to a tie, Cleveland had an answer to every potential Magic run. In the end, Orlando’s lack of focus in the first quarter proved costly, rendering Paolo Banchero’s outstanding performance in vain.
The aforementioned Mitchell led his team with 35 points, while Darius Garland added 26. On the other side, Banchero scored 42 points, setting a new career-high, but it wasn’t enough for Orlando to secure their 15th win of the season.
