American basketball player Deshaun Thomas is the new addition to Asvel, announced by the club’s president Tony Parker.
Deshaun Thomas joins the French team after a period with Joventut and is another in a series of changes for Asvel, which recently parted ways with coach Gianmarco Pozzecco.
“I believe that the team is not developing its full potential. This won’t stop us from bringing in new players. Thomas has arrived, and he will help. We are still looking for a playmaker; we need to strengthen our playmaking,” said Parker.
Thomas had a relatively successful season in Badalona. He played 11 games for the Spanish team in the Liga Endesa, averaging 15 points, while in the EuroCup, he averaged 13.4 points.
Before that, he played for Milano, Bayern, Tokyo, Panathinaikos, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Anadolu Efes, Austin Spurs, Barcelona, and Nanterre.
Asvel is currently in the second-to-last position in the EuroLeague with a record of 3-16, the same as the last-placed Alba Berlin.
