Dimitrios Agravanis, the Greek power forward/center, is the new member of Rio Breogan. This news was confirmed by agent Misko Raznatovic on Twitter.
After leaving the Greek national team this summer, the former Panathinaikos player has found a new engagement in the ACB league with Rio Breogan.
Throughout his career, he has played for two Greek giants, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos, and has also had stints with Peristeri, Promitheas, and Napoli. Last year, he averaged 8.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while wearing the green jersey.
Eight years ago, he was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA, but he did not make his debut in the world’s top basketball league. In the last qualification window for the FIBA World Cup, he played for Greece, but he did not make it to the competition itself.
Namely, Dimitrios Agravanis had a falling out with coach Itoudis, accusing him of lying, which is why he didn’t make the list of 12 players who traveled to Manila. The Greek national team was eliminated from the competition after being defeated by the Lithuanian national team in the second phase.
In the upcoming season, he will play for the Galician team not only in the Spanish league but also in the FIBA Basketball Champions League. They will compete in the group stage alongside Bonn, Bursaspor, and Hapoel Holon.
