Dimitrios Giannakopoulos, the owner of Panathinaikos, took to social media after their biggest rival made two signings.
Olympiacos quickly introduced two reinforcements, signing Naz Mitrou-Long and Serbian national team silver medalist from Manila, Filip Petrusev. The moves by the Pireaus-based club did not go unnoticed by the head of Panathinaikos.
As usual, he expressed his thoughts on social media, sending a message to the arch-rival that they have secured two significant signings for the upcoming season.
“The announcement for Petrusev was quite successful. I tip my hat. I hope you change your mood, but since we’re in the mood for jokes today, I’ll say the following: Together with coach Ataman, we have taken steps for two changes in the roster for the next season. Two players, each worth 3,000,000 euros. I won’t say who they are, but those in Pireaus know them well. I believe we will have a better roster than in 2009. That’s it. Enjoy your coffee,” wrote Dimitrios Giannakopoulos.

This summer, Panathinaikos underwent a complete team overhaul, acquiring 11 new players (some of whom had previous experience with the club), and then added former Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers player Kendrick Nunn to the roster.
Under the leadership of Ergin Ataman, the Greens have been gradually gaining momentum. After 10 rounds in the EuroLeague, they hold a record of 6-4, while in the Greek league, they are undefeated with a record of 8-0.
