Dimitris Giannakopoulos, the owner of Panathinaikos, expressed his thoughts on social media after one of the biggest European derbies.
In the Greek Basket League Round 15, the Athens Greens triumphed over Olympiacos for the second time this season in the domestic championship, with a score of 85:80. This occasion prompted Dimitris Giannakopoulos to ‘fuel the fire’ in the already intense historical rivalry between these teams.
“My goal is to create the best team in the history of European basketball. I want Panathinaikos to defeat Olympiacos by 40 points, not five. A team that will secure the seventh, eighth, and ninth European titles,” wrote the owner of Panathinaikos.
He then commented on the head coach of the Reds from Piraeus. Specifically, Georgios Bartzokas was dissatisfied with certain referee decisions:
“Bartzokas needs to finally admit that he lost in a fair battle and not be ironic and arrogant. He should lose once and say that everything was fair. Why did he complain at all?”
