Dimitris Itoudis, the coach of Fenerbahce, spoke after the win by 101-86 against Asvel in the fourth round of the EuroLeague.
The Greek coach emphasized the defensive mindset of the Bosphorus team. He pointed out that the team’s offense worked after their defensive efforts and that this was key to the victory.
“We have to be defensively oriented. We had to be aggressive. Obviously, it was 59-31 in the second half, and that was because of our defensive mindset. You have to be focused and respect everyone. Congratulations to the team, especially for the second half. We capitalized offensively on some of Asvel’s defensive mistakes. We found ways to punish them for those mistakes.”
Itoudis highlighted several players who were key to Fenerbahce’s big comeback, and he also wished Asvel and T.J. Parker good luck.
“Tarik was crucial coming off the bench, as well as Motley, who gives us different options in offense. Every player contributed in some way today. Scottie and Guduric also set the tone we needed. I hope this second half is a wake-up call for how we should continue to play in the rest of the season. Good luck to Parker and Asvel; they are doing a great job,” Dimitris Itoudis concluded.
