Luka Doncic will not be taking the court for Slovenia in their friendly match against the USA, as announced by the Slovenian Basketball Federation.
Slovenia states that Luka Doncic sustained a hit during the game against Spain, and as a precaution, Aleksander Sekulić does not wish to risk his participation in the upcoming match against the USA.
The Dallas Mavericks superstar spent around 25 minutes on the court against Spain, finishing the game with 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Aside from Doncic, Vlatko Cancar will also be absent from the Slovenian lineup. Nuggets forwards tore his anterior cruciate ligament during the game against Greece and will miss the FIBA World Cup.
“I will always play for Slovenia, except when I am injured. This has been a very long summer for me, but I am happy to be back on track. I haven’t played since April 10th, so I am really looking forward to the games. The goal is always the same, I go to the tournament to win. What will happen there, that’s another matter,” Luka Doncic recently stated to AS.
Slovenia is placed in Group F for the FIBA World Cup alongside Cape Verde, Georgia, and Venezuela.
