Igokea concluded its campaign in the FIBA Basketball Champions League without a win. In the last round of the group stage, Tortona defeated Igokea in Laktasi with a score of 77:74.
Igokea opened the game excellently, managing to take a 15-5 lead with much better energy. By the end of the first quarter, the guests managed to come back and reduce the deficit to one point. Until the end of the first half, the home team was in the lead. However, with an 11-0 run, Tortona reversed the score and went into halftime with a lead of 44:36.
In the second half, Tortona played much better. The guests maintained a double-digit lead throughout the third quarter, holding a 15-point advantage. Aleksandrovac team didn’t give up, managing to come back and reduce the deficit to two points. With a three-pointer by Marko Josilo, Igokea tied the score at 73:73. The Italian team managed to take a 77:74 lead, and Josilo had the last shot, but he missed the three-pointer for overtime.
Retin Obasohan led his team to win with 15 points, while on the other side, Edin Atic was the top scorer with 18 points. With five wins, Tortona finished second and will play in the play-in for the top 16 phase, while Aleksandrovac concluded the competition with six losses.
Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Benfica
Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Benfica 97:68, securing the first place and advancing to the top 16 phase for Aleksandar Djikic’s team.
Benfica had a better start, taking a 14:7 lead. With a 9-0 run, the Israeli team turned the game around. By the end of the first half, Hapoel practically resolved any doubts about the winner by gaining a 19-point advantage. In the continuation of the match, they maintained the lead, securing a convincing win.
Levi Randolph led his team to win with 32 points, while on the other side, Terrell Carter had 22 points. With five wins, Hapoel finished first in the group, while Benfica ended up in the last place.
