Dubai is officially a new participant in the ABA League, confirmed on the official website of the regional competition.
On this occasion, Dubravko Kmetovic, the director of the ABA League, has issued a statement.
“BC Dubai joining the ABA family is in many ways a specific sports-business venture. It represents a vision that the ABA League j.t.d. clubs recognized as an ideal opportunity to achieve two priority goals.
Firstly, to increase the quality of the competition, and secondly, to open the door to a new market, which will accelerate the ABA League’s efforts to become a league that generates more profitable operations for the benefit of its shareholders.”
The club’s chairman, Abdulla Saeed Al Naboodah, also delivered a speech.
“We are thrilled to join the ABA League, a region renowned for nurturing some of the world’s top basketball talents. We eagerly anticipate hosting the ABA League here in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena, where basketball enthusiasts can enjoy a premier experience. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the ABA League management and teams for their collaboration and dedication in bringing the league to my home city.“
The ABA League will expand from the next season, with 16 clubs participating instead of the current 14. Along with Dubai, a new member will be Spartak Subotica, which defeated Vojvodina in the final of the ABA 2 League.
