Dusko Ivanovic, the head coach of Baskonia, spoke after his team’s loss against Real Madrid in the EuroLeague play-off game.
The Montenegrin coach emphasizes the need to play at a top level for all 40 minutes to celebrate against a team like Real Madrid.
“Congratulations to Real Madrid, they played a very good game. The good thing about my players is that we have improved, remained focused until the end. We showed how we can play, but it has to last for 40 minutes,” said Dusko Ivanovic, and added:
“Tonight we were much more aggressive in defense, we passed the ball better. They hit some threes from long range. That aggressiveness has to last for 40 minutes, everything good in our game has to last for 40 minutes. Now we will rest, and then start training hard and preparing for the next game. We always go for the win, we will always fight until the end.”
Ivanovic also commented on the chances of Chima Moneke playing in the next game.
“I don’t have much to say at the moment, let’s wait and see.”
The next match between the two teams is in Vitoria on May 1st. If Real Madrid wins, they will secure their place in the EuroLeague Final Four.
