Edgaras Ulanovas, a member of the Lithuanian team, shared his thoughts after the second-round EuroLeague game against Crvena Zvezda in Kaunas.
Zalgiris won by 79-74 after a significant comeback. Even though Crvena Zvezda had control over the game for a substantial part of the match, a 13-0 run by the Lithuanian team proved crucial. Edgaras Ulanovas contributed with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
“We didn’t play well in the first half, except perhaps at the very beginning. We didn’t control the tempo, nor did we play smart enough. When you’re up against a team with players like Shabazz Napier, Milos Teodosic, and Nemanja Nedovic, you have to step up your game.
We gave our best, this is just one game, and we have to keep fighting and be tactically better,” said Edgaras Ulanovas.
Edgaras Ulanovas about atmosphere
“I’m happy for the fans; it’s been a long summer without EuroLeague basketball, and they support us wonderfully. This was a perfect game, our first in front of the home crowd, and it’s great that we won,” Ulanovas added.
Crvena Zvezda won the opening game against Asvel and now stands at 1-1 after the loss in Kaunas. The Lithuanian team will visit Real Madrid in the next round of the elite competition.
