Monaco has suspended one of its key players, Elie Okobo, indefinitely, as confirmed by sources from BasketNews.
The suspension comes in the aftermath of the team’s defeat to Olympiacos in Piraeus on Thursday due to reported disrespect and unprofessional behavior, according to the mentioned portal.
Due to the indefinite nature of Okobo’s suspension, the exact number of games he will miss remains uncertain.
Monaco will host Baskonia on January 9, followed by an away game against Panathinaikos on January 11 during the upcoming double round of the EuroLeague.
So far, Okobo has averaged 10.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game in 19 appearances for Sasa Obradovic’s team.
Monaco currently holds a record of 10 wins and nine losses in the EuroLeague.
