Erdem Can has shared his expectations ahead of Anadolu Efes’s visit to Italy, where they will play a EuroLeague game against Virtus from Bologna.
The start of the new season hasn’t been smooth for the Turkish representative. They are currently on a negative record with two wins and three losses after five rounds played. It’s clear that this team has the potential for much more, and everyone in the club, including Erdem Can, is aware of that.
“Virtus is a team that plays very consistent basketball on both ends of the court. So, we can say that their approach is identical in both the EuroLeague and Serie A. We’ll be playing on the road in an extremely tough atmosphere created by the home fans. We need to be very focused for the entire 40 minutes,” said Erdem Can.
Adding to his words, Anadolu Efes player Derek Willis said:
“We had two very good practices ahead of the game against Virtus. They are an extremely physically dominant team and play very well. Tornike Shengelia has improved his shooting, and he spends a lot of minutes on the court. To win, we have to match their energy and control the boards.”
