Ergin Ataman, the head coach of Panathinaikos, has expressed his expectations ahead of the encounter with Crvena Zvezda in the 30th round of the EuroLeague.
Panathinaikos is in a fierce battle for home-court advantage with the teams of Fenerbahce and Olympiacos, so every game until the end of the season is of great importance to them in their efforts to be among the top four teams.
“It’s not an easy game. Crvena Zvezda is a good team even if they have lost almost their playoff chances. They still fight in every game. For us, every game is a final now. We need to protect our third position for the playoffs.
After this one, we have a tough game against Barcelona at home. The Stark Arena is a tough place to play in, but everybody has played here: some teams won, some teams lost. We have to stay focused and try to win and we will have the advantage for the standings,” said Ergin Ataman.
Alongside Ataman, Marius Grigonis has also expressed his expectations ahead of the game against Crvena Zvezda.
“I hope we can win. Ahead of us we have a tough few weeks that will decide our season, We have to be focused for this game, we will have to do many things. The most important thing is to want it more than them. If you are mentally strong it always helps.”
The game between Crvena Zvezda and Panathinaikos will take place on Wednesday, starting at 20:00.
