Ergin Ataman spoke after the EuroLeague game in which Barcelona and Panathinaikos competed and shared his thoughts.
Barcelona won by 80-72. In his initial statement after the match, Ergin Ataman subtly criticized the referees.
“We made a lot of mistakes, and we will have to analyze that. But there are others who need to analyze their performances at the start of the season,” Ataman said, alluding to the poor officiating.
Ataman then analyzed the game itself.
“We started the game well. We managed to defensively control things on the court in the first quarter. In the second period, things changed. We allowed them offensive rebounds, made mistakes, and they scored easy points.
Throughout the game, we weren’t able to respond to them. The last ten minutes don’t really reflect the game. It was difficult to play without Sloukas and Vildoza because when Grant got tired, we lost control,” Ataman stated.
