Ergin Ataman, head coach of Panathinaikos, spoke at a press conference after the game against Valencia in the EuroLeague 19th Round.
Panathinaikos secured the win by 82:81, thanks to Mathias Lessort’s free-throw points.
“In the first half, we couldn’t play good defense, conceding many points after our turnovers, rebounds, and pick-and-roll situations with Chris Jones. In the second half, we had a chance to break the game open as we led by seven points, but we lost the ball in transition and were immediately punished, losing control of the game.”
“In the last five minutes, we played aggressive defense, managing to stop Jones. In the offense, Vildoza and Grant performed well. It’s an important win for us, especially since tonight we were without key offensive players, Kostas Sloukas, and Kendrick Nunn, who had perhaps his worst offensive game tonight.
We found a way to win, especially Vildoza and Grant played well,” said Ergin Ataman after the game.
