Ettore Messina, the coach of Milano, spoke before the match that awaits his team at home against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
In a rescheduled match of the second round of the EuroLeague, Milano is hosting Maccabi Tel Aviv. This game comes for Ettore Messina’s team after consecutive losses in the EuroLeague and in Serie A against Pesaro.
A concern before this match is the injury to Nikola Mirotic.
“We are facing an extremely athletic team, deep, with a playmaker who holds all his teammates together. Maccabi is by definition a team that has a mentality and cohesion, especially in tough moments. They lost in Monaco, but they had time to rest and prepare. I expect them to be extremely motivated.
We will have to at least match their determination and certainly show better quality of play compared to our recent games,” said Ettore Messina in the match preview.
Alex Poythress is well acquainted with the team from Tel Aviv since he joined Milano from their ranks.
“Maccabi is a team that knows how to compete, a team of veterans with a lot of physical strength. The key for us will be to bring the same level of physical strength to the court as they will,” said Alex Poythress.
The Milano vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv match is scheduled for Tuesday at 8:30 PM.
