Ettore Messina, the head coach of Milano, appeared on the “EuroLeague Masterminds” show and touched on some details from his career.
The Italian expert has achieved a lot in his career. He has been the European champion four times, won the former Saporta Cup, was a champion of Italy and Russia six times each, won silver at the 1997 EuroBasket with Italy, and has achieved much more in his career.
“Every day I discover something new. I wasn’t a player. I became a coach very early, when I was 17 years old. Because they offered me to become a coach. So I never experienced what many of my colleagues who played at a high level did. I don’t know what it feels like in the locker room before a big game when you’re a player,” said Ettore Messina, then continued:
“That’s what I learn from my players every day. I always want to know how they behave, how they react to certain situations, how they think…”
Milano still has a chance to potentially qualify for the EuroLeague play-in, but they will need a win against Maccabi Tel Aviv, as well as losses for Partizan and Anadolu Efes.
