EuroLeague has reacted and penalized the Fenerbahce team, while cautioning Jaron Blossomgame for the incident.
Following the conclusion of the game in which Monaco emerged victorious, thus forcing a decider, an incident occurred when the home team’s fans, those in the front rows, clashed with the visiting players. Fenerbahce head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius immediately apologized after the game.
Monaco head coach Sasa Obradovic calmed his players down and directed them towards the locker room.
“Regardless of whether we won the game, we should have returned to our locker room. Someone could throw something, but you have to distance yourself. You should go and not pay attention to it.
I can say that in the past, I was the first to resort to physical confrontation. Now I am wiser and I said, ‘Go away,’ so there wouldn’t be a repeat of last year’s experience with Partizan, Kevin Punter, and Sergio Llull,” said Obradovic.
EuroLeague has announced the penalties as follows:
Monaco will host the fifth game on Wednesday at 7 PM.
