Besiktas suffered another defeat in Game 2 on the road in the semifinal series against Fenerbahce by 98:72, in the Turkish Super League.
Just two days ago, these rivals played the first game, with Sarunas Jasikevicius‘ team emerging victorious once again.
Besiktas managed to be a competitive rival during the first 20 minutes. Fenerbahce led at halftime, but the visitors remained close as they trailed by only four points (47:43).
The beginning of the third quarter was crucial, as Fenerbahce quickly established a double-digit lead with a 9:0 run. Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team played excellent defense, leading 72:52 at the end of the third quarter. The home team maintained their lead comfortably until the end, securing a 2-0 series lead.
Once again, Nigel Hayes-Davis was the top scorer for the winning team with 20 points, followed by the excellent Scottie Wilbekin with 19 points. Tarik Biberovic also had a great game with 15 points, while Serbian national team player Marko Guduric did not play due to injury.
In Dusan Alimpijevic’s team, the best performer was Marko Simonovic with 16 points, while Jonah Mathews added 15.
Game 3 of the final series will be played on Monday, starting at 19:30, with Besiktas hosting.
