Filip Petrusev shared his first impressions after signing with Olympiacos in an interview with Sport24, mentioning Luca Vildoza as well.
The Serbian basketball player emphasized that he saw the team from Piraeus as the best option for further advancement in his career.
“The Olympiacos fans are very passionate. They can expect me to play with passion and energy. I would say that I am more suitable for the power forward position, but I can also play at the center. I can contribute at both positions. I recently considered the possibility of playing in Greece and for Olympiacos because it’s a top team, competing for titles every year and has excellent fans,” said Filip Petrusev, adding:
“I didn’t talk to coach Bartzokas before I signed. While I was in the U.S., I spoke with my manager about where I fit best, and we decided that Olympiacos is the right team because they don’t have another player with my characteristics. The coach told me not to be burdened by it.”
Petrusev doesn’t hide that he talked to Sasha Vezenkov before signing with Olympiacos.
“Vezenkov and I talked a lot about Olympiacos, he gave me firsthand information and explained what to expect. I’m definitely looking forward to the Greek derbies. Last year, I played many derbies in Serbia, and I want to compare experiences. I saw some footage from last year’s derby, I hope things won’t get out of control.”
Regarding a conversation with Luca Vildoza, the Serbian representative says:
“No, I didn’t talk to Vildoza. I think we are not allowed to talk to Panathinaikos players (laughs). I spoke with some other players who have been through Greece, like Hasan Martin and Ben Bentil, but not with Panathinaikos players. I briefly saw Milutinov before the team left for Monaco. He has dominated in the EuroLeague since his return. I can’t wait to share the court. We spent a lot of time together during the summer with the Serbian national team.”
