Filip Petrusev, a representative of Serbia, could soon become a member of the red and whites from Piraeus, according to sources from Sport 24.
The Belgrade native ventured into the NBA this year but didn’t get much playing time, creating a yo-yo effect around his name.
He spent only three minutes on the court in Philadelphia before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, and shortly thereafter, he was moved to the Sacramento Kings. He briefly joined the development team of the California-based squad but was quickly brought back. However, a return to Europe is not out of the question.
Indeed, Filip Petrusev could once again don the red and white jersey. However, this time it might be not for Crvena Zvezda but Olympiacos. According to reports from a Greek site, the Piraeus team aims to sign the Serbian power forward for multiple years. Primarily, at the age of just 24, the champions of Greece reportedly see a bright future for him.
He began his career with Mega, then moved to Anadolu Efes, where he became a European champion with the Istanbul-based team. Last season, he stood out in Crvena Zvezda, and those performances earned him recognition for the NBA. With the Serbian national team, he won a silver medal at this year’s World Cup.
