Gabriel Deck has suffered a new injury. Just as the Argentine returned to the court, he had another setback and will be out of action for some time.
Gabriel Deck suffered an injury towards the end of the previous season. It all happened during the quarterfinal series between Real Madrid and Partizan. The injury occurred during the fourth game when Deck was in a duel with Zach LeDay.
Deck did not play for the rest of the season, and Real managed to win the EuroLeague title without him.
This past weekend, the Spanish Super Cup took place. During the semifinal against Barcelona, Deck suffered another injury, which prevented him from playing in the final against Unicaja.
As reported by Pilar Casado, it’s a right ankle injury. Detailed medical examinations were conducted on Tuesday. It’s not yet known when Deck will return to the court, but it’s clear that he will be unavailable for some time.
To recall, Real Madrid, even without Deck’s contribution, defeated Unicaja in the final and won their first trophy of the season. Madrid will aim to defend their title in the elite European club competition and regain the Endesa League trophy from Barcelona, who beat them in the league last season.
