Gabriele Procida has ended his season and will undergo surgery, as announced by his club Alba Berlin on social media.
The Italian has been sidelined for a month already, but he won’t be stepping onto the court anytime soon. He is scheduled for surgery on the patellar tendon, which will keep him off the court for the remainder of the season. It’s likely that he will also miss another significant event.
In July, the Olympic qualifying tournament begins. Italy will compete against Puerto Rico, and it seems probable that he won’t be among the 12 players selected for San Juan. In his second EuroLeague season, Gabriele Procida has averaged 8.3 points and 1.6 rebounds in 25 EuroLeague games.
