Krka’s coach, Gasper Okorn, spoke before the second-round game against Partizan in the ABA League.
Okorn had plenty of praise for the upcoming opponent, considering them to have an exceptionally strong team.
“From my point of view, this will be one of the easier games for us. We are facing one of the best teams in Europe and the defending champions of the ABA League, led by one of the most successful coaches in Europe. They are a high-quality EuroLeague team with a budget that was unimaginable in this region until a few years ago.
Kevin Punter is the third highest-paid player in the EuroLeague; Aleksa Avramovic was one of the key players for the Serbian national team at the World Cup, Zach LeDay stayed, as did James Nunnally. They have strengthened their roster with P.J. Dozier and Frank Kaminsky, Mateusz Ponitka,” Okorn stated.
Krka’s coach also explained how his team can pose a threat to the opponent.
“All 12 players can play equally. You don’t know what’s worse for us – the starting five or their substitutes. We can only learn something from this game. We need to play our game. Motivation won’t be lacking. Above all, we must not be afraid. We must respect the opponent, but not be afraid of them. Step by step, from quarter to quarter, and we’ll see where that takes us,” Gasper Okorn concluded.
The game between Krka and Partizan is scheduled for Sunday at 4 PM.
