Georgios Bartzokas, the head coach of Olympiacos, spoke to the media ahead of the EuroLeague clash against Real Madrid.
The match will be without the still-recovering Nigel Williams-Goss, as well as Filip Petrusev, the latest acquisition for the Piraeus team.
“I think it’s unnecessary to talk about the weight of this match. When we consider all the elements, they are currently the most challenging team to play against. Everything has to be at the highest level to win. They play without injuries, in good form, and Facundo Campazzo has returned, making them even better. Of course, we believe we can win.
Expecting a full arena, which will motivate us to play well. I believe we played well against Monaco, but the game was practically decided in two possessions. It’s on us to work and progress to become the best possible version of Olympiacos. With the new reinforcements, I believe we can achieve that,” said Georgios Bartzokas.
About Nigel Williams-Goss and Filip Petrusev
“Neither of them will be in the lineup. Goss is recovering from an injury and is not yet at 100%. I hope he will be ready for the next league game in Greece. Filip Petrusev setrained with the team for the first time today. It’s impossible for him to play in a game without team practice. He needs time. My estimate is that it will take him seven to ten days to adjust because he hasn’t had competitive motivation in the NBA.”
