Georgios Bartzokas spoke at a press conference after Olympiacos and Partizan faced off in the fourth round of the EuroLeague.
Olympiacos won 98-94 after overtime, and now, after four games in the current EuroLeague season, they have a 2-2 record.
“This was our fourth game in six days. It was quite challenging because, as you know, we are essentially playing with eight or nine players in rotation. My players showed character and heart, especially when we were down by 14 points. For example, Nigel Williams-Goss played for 31 minutes despite having only one team practice. Likewise, Moustapha Fall was in the same situation.
“Such wins boost confidence and provide the opportunity to become a real team. When something like this happens, we can beat anyone. Everything that happened during the game was against us. Alen Smailagic played excellently and made a tough three-point shot at a critical moment. We had lapses in concentration due to the physical exertion on the court,” said Georgios Bartzokas, adding:
“Congratulations to my players, and also to the fantastic fans. I would also like to congratulate Partizan on a great game.”
In the next round of the EuroLeague, Olympiacos will host Anadolu Efes.
