Georgios Bartzokas, ahead of the new EuroLeague season, emphasized that the most challenging away game for him is against Crvena Zvezda.
From the perspective of the Greek coach, it’s toughest to secure a victory in front of the fans of the Belgrade red-and-whites, as he mentioned in a EuroLeague video.
To recall, in the previous season, the club from Malo Kalemegdan defeated the giants from Piraeus on both occasions. Olympiacos finished the regular season as the top-ranked team and later advanced to the final of the prestigious competition, where they were halted by Real Madrid in their quest for the trophy.
The team coached by Georgios Bartzokas will host Crvena Zvezda in the first part of the season on November 16th, while they will be guests at the Stark Arena on April 4th next year.
Over the last 10 years, Belgrade’s red-and-whites have faced Olympiacos a total of 17 times in EuroLeague, with the club from Piraeus mostly emerging as the victors in these encounters (10 wins).
This marks Bartzokas’ second stint as the head coach of the Greek red-and-whites, as he previously held the position from 2012 to 2014.
During his time with Olympiacos, he secured an EuroLeague title, two national cups, two championships, and one SuperCup.
