Georgios Bartzokas emphasized a lack of mental preparation after the loss against Panathinaikos in Game 3 of the finals.
The Greek strategist emphasized some things that made the difference tonight, and especially he talked about the foul managment.
“Congratulations to Panathinaikos. They played decisively. We did not play like in the other games. Our players were loaded with fouls and we were forced to play with untested formations. The reaction of Panathinaikos was expected. The series could not end with 3-0. It would let’s prepare now for Wednesday’s match,” Georgios Bartzokas started.
Then he continued:
“It’s not the high tempo. It’s the quality of the teams. It is mental fatigue. We will stick to our plan, and we need to be the ones we should be. We are not worse offensively, nor is Panathinaikos worse defensively. Today we were mentally unprepared. Especially when we conceded a point we weren’t right. We played bad defense and put the ball in their hands”.
At the end he talked about the high tension of this final:
“Mr. Ataman has been expelled. On my side is to stay in basketball. The words are completely normal. On Sunday I saw a lot of games. The games played in Greece in terms of quality are the best”.
