Georgios Bartzokas, the head coach of Olympiacos, spoke after his team’s win over their rival Panathinaikos 71:65.
The Greek strategist was very pleased after this triumph, and why wouldn’t he be? They have beaten their biggest rival in the EuroLeague for the second time, and now they have the same number of wins and losses as Panathinaikos (18 wins, 11 losses).
“I feel great, our defense was excellent, and that’s the nature of our team. We are very dedicated to that. Panathinaikos has the ability to make crazy shots. You saw Marius Grigonis’ basket in the last seconds, and that showed their ability. We have a great team and players,” said Georgios Bartzokas at the beginning.
“It’s not easy to work in the EuroLeague, doing what we do. We have the ability to turn games around, even if we didn’t start well. I want to give special thanks to Walkup and Williams-Goss, who played this game injured. The atmosphere was fantastic once again.”
In the next game, Olympiacos will be visiting Anadolu Efes, while Panathinaikos will be away to face Crvena Zvezda.
