Georgios Bartzokas spoke about the injured players in his team ahead of the game against Real Madrid.
Georgios Bartzokas said that Olympiacos is ready to become active in the market.
,,The opponent is undoubtedly very challenging. We also need to assess ourselves, who we are, what adjustments we need to make in some aspects of our game in order to be competitive. This is important. We are missing two key big men, and Nigel Williams-Goss is uncertain.
We need to see where we stand, what defensive and offensive plays we need to execute to be able to compete for the win. Some players will have more playing time, others will change positions… But we will try to be competitive and tough as always.”
,,Nikola’s injury requires surgery, and he’s out for about two months. And since Fall is also out, hopefully for a short time, we are researching the market. We are talking to agents to suggest players to us, and [we will] see what happens, but you know that always in this period, it is quite difficult to find a player who is ready to play because he needs to be in good condition immediately and not pass a month. It’s always a difficult process, but we’re [on] it.”
Luke Sikma also expressed expectations ahead of the game in Madrid.
,,I believe that more than anything else, we need to play with self-confidence and as a team. Trying to win in Madrid is difficult. They are very strong, especially at their home court. However, we have to play hard and be competitive. We need to be completely focused to achieve it. I am always ready.”
