Georgios Bartzokas, the head coach of Greek Olympiacos, spoke before tonight’s first game of this season’s EuroLeague against Panathinaikos.
The experienced Greek coach emphasized that they are facing a very tough opponent and that PAO will be much better prepared for this match compared to the Greek Super Cup final.
“Surely, it will be a different game compared to the Greek Super Cup final. First of all, it’s tough to play on Panathinaikos’s home turf, especially for us, because of the atmosphere. It’s the beginning of the season, and we are optimistic. We have faith in our team. We hope to play well and start the season with a victory,” Georgios Bartzokas began and continued:
“We need to control the game and play good defense because the defense will create opportunities for fast breaks.
We expect them to be more aggressive, hesitate less, and be more determined because they want to respond to what was written, what was said, and what really happened in the Super Cup. They have a good roster, a good coach, and they will be much better prepared this time to face us.“
The match between the two Greek teams starts at 8:15 PM.
