After the sixth round EuroLeague match played in Kaunas against Zalgiris, Asvel’s coach Gianmarco Pozzeco spoke.
Asvel recorded their first victory of the season in the EuroLeague by defeating Zalgiris 91-88 on the road. Gianmarco Pozzeco’s team played an excellent last quarter, winning 19-8 and securing the triumph.
“I don’t care about the first victory. Something incredible happened tonight. Three minutes before the end of the match, I called Paris Lee and wanted to put him on the court because we needed him in the attack at that moment, and he played exceptionally well in defense. He looked at me and winked, as if asking, ‘Are you sure?’ And what could I do? I let him play.
That moment means everything to me. It shows the atmosphere we have in the locker room with the players, and that means a lot. That signal is incredible. I am truly happy,” Pozzeco said, continuing, “We took over the pick and roll, and we didn’t give up. I love my players, as always. We didn’t give up even when we were behind; they shot well from the three-point line,” Pozzeco added.
