Milwaukee Bucks basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo has defended his coach, Doc Rivers, who has been the target of criticism in recent days.
Giannis Antetokounmpo praised Doc Rivers, after JJ Reddick had some not-so-kind words for the 2008 NBA champion.
“He’s solid. He’s damn Doc Rivers. He knows his stuff. It’s the same with Mike Budenholzer, Joe Prunty, Jason Kidd. And head coach Adrian Griffin was great too, a great person, but ultimately, it was his first time. He was trying to figure out how to lead a group, how to deal with stars, and sometimes that can be tough.
They all did a good job, as did his coaching staff. He did an incredible job and led us to a 30-13 record, but head coach Rivers has won 1,100 games in his career. That’s totally different,” Antetokounmpo said to The Athletic.
Let’s remind ourselves, there’s speculation that the Greek superstar was the one who influenced Griffin’s departure. Since this happened, things haven’t been going well for the Bucks, as they have a record of three wins and seven losses in their last 10 games.
Currently, the Milwaukee Bucks are in the third position in the Eastern Conference with a record of 35-21.
