Girona secures their third victory in the new Liga Endesa season, defeating Granada, while Joventut prevails over Gran Canaria.
Girona didn’t have control over the game from the start. In fact, Granada quickly established a double-digit lead, ending the first quarter with a score of 23-16. The guests went on a 13-0 run, leading to a turnaround and a two-point lead for them at halftime (44-42).
Even in the second half, Granada didn’t give up, resulting in yet another turnaround and a two-point lead for the home team going into the final 10 minutes of the game. An impressive 35 points from Girona’s players in the final quarter showcased their offensive dominance, culminating in a score of 102-91 and their third win of the season.
Kwan Cheatham Jr. was the top scorer for Granada with 16 points, while Quino Colom stood out for Girona with 21 points.
Girona remains at the top of the Endesa League table with a 3-0 record, while Granada is at the bottom with three losses.
In the next round, Real Madrid will visit Girona, and Granada will host Baskonia.
Joventut secures their second win of the season by beating Gran Canaria 89-75 in the third round of the Liga Endesa.
The team from Badalona showcased a better performance right from the start, leading by as much as eight points at the end of the first quarter (28-16). The visitors found their rhythm in the second quarter, narrowing the gap to just half a point by halftime (43-42).
Andres Feliz, in great form, extended his team’s lead during the third quarter, putting Joventut in a favorable position heading into the final 10 minutes (64-56). A 13-2 run in the middle of the fourth quarter broke the opponent’s resistance, leading Joventut to their second victory of the season.
Feliz was the top scorer for his team with 23 points, while on the other side, Ben Lammers and Nicolas Brussino each contributed 14 points.
Joventut is now seventh in the league standings with a 2-1 record, while Gran Canaria is in 13th place with one win and two losses.
In the next round, Joventut will be visiting Palencia, while Gran Canaria will host Unicaja.
