There was concern that Wade Baldwin could be more seriously injured, but the coach of “Pride of Israel” shared good news.
Oded Kattash spoke after his team’s win over Hapoel Be’er Sheva and revealed that the team’s star had come through well. In the defeat against Crvena Zvezda, he left the court earlier due to a lower back injury, but it seems the American is doing well.
“It’s less serious than it seemed, but I have no idea what that means for Thursday. We don’t really have a chance to test it in practice, we’ll see before the game. I’m glad it’s not serious.”
He then commented on the tricky situation in which Maccabi Tel Aviv finds itself. Specifically, foreigners were unwilling to travel back to Israel for security reasons, including Wade Baldwin, and Kattash shared his perspective on the situation.
“I can only look at it professionally, and everyone understands that it’s not ideal. I don’t think anyone considers it ideal to meet the day before the game and resolve this. I hope we can give our best, and hopefully, the off-court situation will change as soon as possible.”
