Guerschon Yabusele spoke after the third-round match of Group H at the FIBA World Cup, in which France defeated Lebanon by 85-79.
France didn’t play a good game. Lebanon was in contention for victory for a long time but couldn’t manage to pull off the surprise. After the match, Guerschon Yabusele shared his impressions.
“First and foremost, I want to commend Lebanon. This was a tough game for us. It was crucial for us to secure the victory. The score isn’t the most important thing; it’s about the fight we put up. Staying together was key for us. We have two more games ahead, and we want to rest and prepare for what’s coming next.”
The French team is struggling quite a bit in the defensive at the FIBA World Cup
” We need to be better in defense, especially given that we have excellent defenders. One of Lebanon’s players was on fire and made many shots. Defense is something we need to improve. We have good defensive players, and we will work on enhancing this aspect.”
The Indonesian journalists were interested in whether the Real Madrid basketball player is satisfied with the conditions in their country.
“Everything is great in Indonesia. People are very kind and they make an effort to provide us with everything we need. The hotel service is of a high standard. It’s nice to be here and spend a certain amount of time.”
Yabusele led the French team to victory with 18 points.
“I always try to read the game on the court. Tonight was a different scenario because we didn’t have tall basketball players. I played in the center position. I tried to help the team in the best possible way” Yabusele concluded.
France will play for placement from 17th to 32nd place.
