Hapoel Tel Aviv bolstered its backcourt by inking young guard Noam Yaacov, the club announced Friday on social media.
Last season, Yaacov participated in 26 EuroLeague games with Asvel, averaging 2.2 points and 1.3 assists per game. While these numbers may seem modest, they don’t fully capture his potential.
In the four games where he played over 18 minutes, Yaacov’s performance significantly improved, averaging 8.0 points and 2.5 assists. This indicates that with more playing time, he has the ability to make a substantial impact on the court.

Hapoel’s general manager, George Hinas, expressed great enthusiasm about Yaacov’s arrival:
“Noam is one of the most talented players in Europe. He has a great passion for the game of basketball and a great love for our club, where he will have the opportunity to continue to improve his abilities by playing at the highest levels that we aim for.”
Noam Yaacov’s basketball journey began in Denmark, but it was in Israel where his talent truly flourished. Starting his professional career with Hapoel Afula, Yaacov quickly made a name for himself. He then moved on to play for Hapoel Jerusalem, where he was instrumental in their 2023 Israeli Cup win.
His impressive performances didn’t go unnoticed on the international stage. As a member of the Israeli national team, Yaacov played a crucial role in securing a silver medal at the 2023 U20 European Championship.
Now, Yaacov is gearing up for his debut in the EuroCup with Hapoel Tel Aviv. This next step in his career promises to showcase his skills on an even larger stage, further establishing him as one of basketball’s most promising young talents.
