Garry Harris agreed to a two-year deal with the Orlando Magic worth $15 million, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed.
Harris has been in Florida since 2021, when he came after seven years spent with the Denver Nuggets. From the beginning, he profiled himself as a great defender, with very good three-point shooting percentages.
As such, he was highly desired by every team, but the departure from Colorado was inevitable, as the Denver Nuggets wanted to make a breakthrough and reach the championship title, which came true a few years later.
The 29-year-old veteran was productive off the bench for the Orlando Magic, who did a great job last season and reached the playoffs. The most deserving of this were Franz Wanger and Paolo Banchero, two big stars in the making and it is certain that the help of Harris, especially in defense, will be of great importance to them.
Now the Orlando Magic need to turn to shooting options, given that they lacked exactly that in order to overcome the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Until one of the best defensive teams in the league does that, it is slowly putting together a team for the next season, which is how it signed Moritz Wagner, who will continue to wear the Orlando Magic jersey for the next two years, for which he will collect 22 million.
And it didn’t end there. Information soon appeared that Jonathan Isaac would be willing to sign a five-year contract worth 84 million dollars, so it is clear that this team is extremely active.
